Donor Privacy

United Way of South Central Indiana is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors. We do NOT sell, trade, or rent personal information to outside parties. To protect the confidentiality of personal information, we use appropriate technical and internal control measures to limit access to your personal information. All employees, members of the board of directors, and committee members are required to read and sign a statement that they have read and understand our Code of Ethics and will comply with its provisions.

Donor Security

You can donate at www.unitedwaysci.org with confidence. We have partnered with Authorize.Net, a leading payment gateway since 1996, to accept credit cards and electronic check payments safely and securely.

The Authorize.Net Payment Gateway manages the complex routing of sensitive customer information through the electronic check and credit card processing networks.

The company adheres to strict industry standards for payment processing, including:

  • 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology for secure Internet Protocol (IP) transactions.
  • Industry leading encryption hardware and software methods and security protocols to protect customer information.
  • Compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

Website Privacy

Our subscription forms require users to give us contact information that may include name, email address, address, interests, and other contact information. We do not request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card or social security numbers.

Internet Protocol Address

We collect an internet protocol (IP) address from all visitors to our website. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the internet. In order to improve our website, and deliver customized, personalized content, we use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our website, analyze trends, track users’ movements within our website, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
