Live United Spotlight: Meet Mary Boucherle

Mary Boucherle knows taxes like the back of her hand. She began working for the Internal Revenue Service by answering calls on the toll-free number. Twenty-three years later, she retired from her position as a Tax Analyst advising 97 Taxpayer Assistance Centers. During her time with the IRS, Mary developed a wealth of tax knowledge. Today, we're lucky she shares that knowledge with volunteers, partners, and clients through United Way's Free Community Tax Service.

Meet Legene White: Live United Spotlight

Possibilities. For Legene White, it’s the possibility that if many people join together and give, even in a small way, our community will greatly benefit. Great power lies in numbers and Legene believes this is an integral part of Living United. “One solitary individual may only have a small impact - but when lots of people unite around a common cause, it becomes very powerful.”

Set a good example to her son and teach him the importance of volunteering. These are just a few reasons Staci chooses to volunteer at United Way member agency Mother Hubbard's Cupboard.
