Monroe and Greene counties receive $55,308 in Emergency Food and Shelter Program Phase 38 funding

The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) has announced that Phase 38 has awarded $44,874 to Monroe County and $10,434 to Greene County to assist those in the community experiencing hunger and homelessness.

In 2017, 2-1-1 specialists and online database searches responded to 3,752 inquiries from Monroe, Owen, and Greene counties and made 5,138 referrals. Most callers were seeking help with housing and utilities assistance, and food.
