Campagin Assistant Internship

The Campaign Assistant reports to the United Way Resource Development Director. The primary role of this position is to assist with the United Way fundraising campaign, as well as several events throughout the year. This paid internship can begin in the Fall of 2017 and lasts through the academic year.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and printing of IU campaign materials (i.e. pledge cards, reference manuals, Provost’s letter, thank you cards, etc.)
  • Help organize and distribute campaign materials to campaign unit leaders
  • Attend and help plan the IU Campaign Cabinet meetings (includes helping to set the dates, draft agendas, and take minutes from the meetings)
  • Attend and help plan campaign special events including IU Training Luncheon & Kick-Off, Campaign kick-off, Nearly Naked Mile, and Leadership Reception
  • Maintain and facilitate pledge card processing
  • Update three progress boards located on IU campus
  • Work with UW staff to provide answers to any questions from donors or campaign leaders
  • Attend regular Resource Development staff meetings
  • Act as liaison between Student United Way and United Way of Monroe County
  • Assist the Resource Development Director in any tasks necessary to improve the overall campaign (includes assisting with other workplace campaigns, mailings, material distribution)

Qualifications:

  • Available to work 10 - 12 hours per week
  • Access to a car and a valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated interest in the nonprofit sector
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to commit to a minimum of two semesters beginning Fall 2017
