An update from Executive Directior Efrat Feferman about the Lilly Endowment grant

United Way recently announced a large gift from the Lilly Endowment, in partnership with Indiana United Ways, for the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund! This is a $1.2M grant and great news for a lot of people! The grant will focus on needs in Green, Monore, and Owen counties - and a portion of Brown County.

Efrat Feferman, United Way of Monroe County Executive Director, provides an update about how your support paved the way for this grant and how partnerships with each county's community foundation will lead the local response efforts. Read more about the Lilly Endowment Grant here.

This follows Phase 1 of the Relief Fund that focused on people needing immediate help as businesses shut down and basic survival needs came roaring to the surface. Read about how Phase 1 recipients are using grant funds here.

Monroe County organizations can fill out the COVID-19 Economic Relief Initiative Frant Interest Form to be alerted when the application process opens on May 5th.

Additionally, the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County is offering Rapid Respons Grants to Monroe County nonprofits. Click here for more information.
