United Way of Monroe County is proud
to collaborate with the
Bloomington
Playwrights Project for the 25th anniversary of the Mini Play
competition, which invites students from all over Monroe County to
submit original plays based on a theme. This year, students will
explore civic engagement through their writing and
involvement in our community.
Write United provides an opportunity for local students to develop plays as a form of creative expression around the theme making a difference in the community. Students in Monroe County public and private schools are encouraged to participate. Teachers can contact BPP at education@newplays.org or 812-334-1188. According to Breshaun Joyner, BPP Education Director, "the highly successful and long-running Mini Play Festival sponsored by the Bloomington Playwrights Project invites students in grades 3 – 12 to submit original 10-minute plays in categories based on grade level (elementary, middle, and high school). Youth produce, direct, and perform the winning plays in each category at the Mini Play Festival each spring."
