Why? Our county’s housing costs are among the highest in the state while our median income is among the lowest. Homeward Bound is a statewide fundraising walk sponsored locally by area social service providers. Funds raised by this annual event stay in Bloomington to help people experiencing homelessness with shelter, food and other emergency assistance needs. According to the Homeward Bound organizers:
How? Walk: Walk on your own or rally together your friends, family, neighbors, faith community, sports team, club, business, or corporation. Give yourselves a fun team name. Last year’s walk attracted more than 500 participants to Third Street Park and more than 1200 donors contributed.
