We are Accountable to our Donors and Partners

United Way of Monroe County is proud of the stewardship its board and staff provide to ensure donor dollars go the farthest.

Over time, we have established fiscal controls that provide assurances to donors and partners that United Way is working efficiently.

Some of the ways we know we're doing a good job include:

  • Our strict Code of Ethics that applies to board members, staff, interns, and volunteers.  The Code includes our conflict of interest statement.
  • Our industry-leading Non-Discrimination Policy, which governs our activities as an organization and our relationship with our partner agencies.
  • Our Form 990, which covers 2009, our most recent tax year.  Previous versions are available at www.guidestar.com.  An explanation of some specific features of a 990 is contained on this site.
  • Our 2009 Statement of Achievements, which includes information on the results United Way and our partners achieved with your support.
  • The United Way Worldwide Membership Standards, by which we remain members in good standing of UWW.  In 2010, despite the fact that these standards get increasingly tighter, we met every membership guideline.
