United Way invests your gift to the Community Care Fund so that it has the maximum possible impact. Trained volunteers study assessments, read applications, and talk with agencies to make the tough decisions about where funds can do the most good.

Then Community Care funds are distributed to member agencies that have been certified as meeting high standards of accountability and efficiency. (And because we have a great group of campaign volunteers helping to raise funds, 99% of those funds stay right here in Monroe County.)
