So, whether it is food for a hungry youngster, on the job training for a person with disabilities or prescriptions for a senior on a fixed income, your gift to United Way provides relief, improvement, and hope for our neighbors and our community.

United Way invests your gift to the Community Action Fund so that it has the maximum possible impact. Trained volunteers study assessments, read applications, and talk with agencies to make the tough decisions about where funds can do the most good.

Then Community Action funds are distributed to member agencies that have been certified as meeting high standards of accountability and efficiency. (And because we have a great group of campaign volunteers helping to raise funds, 99% of those funds stay right here in Monroe County.)  And 91 cents of your donated dollar is used for important programs!
