Advocate!

Policy change can be big or small. Being an Advocate can look like many different things. It can be petitioning your school board to require healthier cafeteria meals. It can be urging your government to invest more in schools, or make child tax credits permanent, or make more children eligible for health insurance. Or it can be mobilizing your friends to speak out on a critical cause, in person or online.

United Way of South Central Indiana works to mobilize Advocates by sharing opportunities for individuals to learn, to act, and to make a difference. We work with a network of United Way organizations throughout the state and country in order to collectively galvanize people to speak out for change. We're amplifying individuals’ voices on important community issues such as housing security, food security, access to high-quality affordable early childhood education, financial mobility and stability, and more.
