Exciting changes ahead

Greetings,

Wow, this fundraising season certainly flew by! Did we really kick off the Reimagine Our Future fund drive in September together? As we wrap up annual fundraising and plan the spring celebration (stay tuned for details!), I want to also share an update on what our Community Impact Committee has been up to and the exciting changes that lay ahead.

Recently the Community Impact Committee – which includes board members, agency representatives, and community volunteers – was tasked with updating our partnership process and our focus areas. I cannot say enough good things about the individuals who lent their time, talents, and thoughtfulness to make this happen, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. The driving force behind this shift was the desire to allow United Way to be more focused, more impactful, and more communicative with you regarding the exact impact your support is making in our community.

The committee did a lot of hard work to get us to where we are today. We rolled out the Resilience framework in response to the unique needs our community faces. We streamlined the application process for agencies, to maintain strong certification standards, but also shift to partnering with agencies around specific programs which align with our Resilience-building objectives.

As I type these words, the committee’s funding recommendations for the next 3 years are en route to our Board of Directors for their final approval. As those decisions are finalized, we look forward to sharing another update, and from there, taking a deeper dive each month into one of our partners’ critical work that is powered by your generosity.

Meanwhile, I would love to fill you in on the details and answer any questions or curiosities you may have. If you’d like to connect, just send me a message! I’m at 812-334-8370 ext 15 or efrat@monroeunitedway.org.

My best,
